Instruction

The instructional methods and technical curriculum at the Academy integrate academic and vocational skills development. Students apply these skills to real-world work environments through work internships. At the school, students' academic work in the integrated setting earns credits which are awarded by their base schools in our Virginia region (Fairfax County Public Schools, Manassas City Public Schools, or Prince William County Public Schools). A primary goal of the program is to graduate students with the skills necessary for success in the workplace.
Performance-Based Assessment
Non-traditional methods of assessment are used at the Academy. Portfolios and exhibitions are the primary means of evaluation in the project-oriented setting.
Transition Services and Job Placement
The Academy offers transition support for those students enrolling in post-secondary education and job search assistance for those students who want to enter the work force directly upon graduation.
